Measure the height and width of the window for relaxed roman shades. Cut a piece of fabric curtain 2 inches longer and 4 inches wider than where you want to end the curtain, and a piece of cloth lining to 2 inches longer and 2 inches wider than where you want to end the curtain. On the right side of the curtain fabric, sew some ribbon ring 1 inch over the edge, beginning and ending 1/2 inch from the top and bottom stitching in straight on both edges of the tape. Make sure the rings are perfectly level with each one on each side. Cut the top and bottom of the tape that is not sewn.
Take the piece of lining and fold it in half vertically to find the center line for relaxed roman shades. Put it on the curtain fabric and hold it with the tape ring over the center line, by aligning the position of the rings exactly the ribbon sewn onto the curtain fabric. Cut the ends.
Sew the tape to the liner ring. With right sides together sew the side edges of the curtain and lining together, leaving a margin of 7/8 inch. You must adjust the curtain fabric to sew the second side as it is wider than the liner for relaxed roman shades.
