Corrugated accordian doors shutters are normally made of steel or aluminum. Blinds and slide block horizontally through doors or windows for added security. Accordion shutters are often installed in homes and business premises in areas prone to hurricanes in late summer through fall. Setting a accordion shutter takes only a few minutes using basic tools.
Pull each accordian doors shutter of the left and right sides of the window, guiding along the track above and below blinds. Loosen the mounting screws holding the left and right shutters to the window frame with a screwdriver. Do not remove the screws. Place the locking pin in the bottom of each plug into its hole in the bottom track. Closing the two shutters together in the middle, with the sliding lock. Tighten the mounting screws on the left and right side accordian doors. This should be done from inside the building with the window open. Open the shutter latch and slide the two sides towards the window frame. Adjust minor dents or bending at the upper and lower tracks, with pliers straightening channels. Replace the tracks that have been flattened or badly damaged as a result of storm debris.
